FORT WORTH, Texas (December 15, 2023) - In response to recent developments, Chairman Tony Pompa issued a statement today regarding the ongoing investigation into the potential security breach of the Tarrant Appraisal District system.

"On November 10, we initially received what we believed to be the final findings from Matthew Tepper and Apollo concerning the investigation into whether the Tarrant Appraisal District system had been hacked. At that time, we reported no evidence of a hack, but Apollo did uncover some significant vulnerabilities in our network. Subsequently, we requested Apollo to conclude the investigation and shift focus to securing our network," stated Chairman Tony Pompa.

Following the initial conclusion, new information surfaced when concerned individuals came forward. In response, the board directed Matthew Tepper to investigate this new information and engaged Apollo once again for a thorough analysis. The results of Mr. Tepper's investigation were presented in a report submitted yesterday, and the board voted to make the report public during yesterday's meeting.

"As outlined in the report, Apollo is set to provide us with their final findings in the coming days, and we will convene to discuss the outcomes once their assessment is complete," Chairman Tony Pompa affirmed.

The Tarrant Appraisal District Board of Directors is committed to transparency and ensuring the security of its systems. We will continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation to safeguard its network and maintain the trust of the entities and the public.
